As I look out of my window the road is white and covered with the first real heavy frost of the winter, brrrr. However, it brightened up by many hundreds of multicoloured bright LED Christmas lights. They hang from windows, trees bushes, doors and virtually anywhere else they could possibly get. I smile as the road lights up at 6.00 as all the timers kick in and then at night when suddenly midnight arrived and the timers all switch off!
My granddad used to love this time of year. He would buy, or so it seemed, something new every Christmas to put up outside. Whenever we would drive back home with mum or dad as a child, I remember we could see granddads house from a ‘mile away’, or so it seemed. It simply lit up the sky! The one thing that amazed me was how he always plugged in adapter upon adapter into the one or two electric sockets! A fire hazard waiting to happen!!

As a qualified electrician, I want to remind you that its vital that you do not overload sockets with multiple adapters like the picture below.
A gentle reminder, so that you don’t ruin your Christmas this year.
- Plug into separate sockets or use an extension with multiple plug-in points
- Do not tangle up and cross over wires as they may well fuse together and cause a fire
- Use plug-in trip breakers so as to cut out any power surges, thus protecting your main fuse board
- Keep a phone number of an electrician close by just in case so problems can be rectified quickly (07778882291)
And have a great and brightly lit up Christmas
